House Smarje is a very interesting project of renovation of three houses from 1850. We made two floor house out of these three houses in the row- the ground floor and the first floor. So we gained two very long and narrow apartments. My job was to make interior design for the first floor apartment. After few space planning changes, from very modern concepts, we ended up with a very traditional one.The planning of the space was dictated by two load bearing walls that we oppened for a size of 1m each in order to connect the space. All the other walls are new. There is one storage area before the entrance, so we are entering the open space of the living and dining room immediately. We are having wooden parquet all over the apartment and the floor heating all over. My clients are wood lovers and also have a hobby of wood turning, so the interior was  designed accordingly. The color scheme is contemporary and very acromatic (dark and light grey and white) with some brass accents. I wanted to create a specific feel to the interior, so I used some shapes/elements that could be described as retro, in combination with layers of acromatic textures, and some art details that bring that wondering dramatic effect - like they dont belong there but at the same time they fit perfectly.
