This project was an exercise of making a residential out of commercial space.
As often, the inspiration was Dalmatia, Edo Murtic paintings, grandmother’s bedroom.
The space is six meters high, has large windows, and it is very big for a loft. Lofts are usually very inspiring, artistic spaces so it’s decided to create similar atmosphere here.
The dining and kitchen area are lifted on a platform, so the living area is one step lower. The stairs to the platform are hidden behind the concrete wall (and attached to it).On the platform there is a bedroom and walk in closet.
The bathroom was left with the high ceiling, so the very artistic lamps are used to lift that space.

The furniture is contemporary and monochromatic but the Misfit sofa by Ron Arad in electric blue is dominating the space.
While everything else is black, grey and white, the floor in the living area is in very interesting finish (briar wood) that was inspired by 1950s furniture - it is Radica di tuia laminate from Italian company Arpa and Stocchist parquet. On the walls  - contemporary, abstract and pop art posters.
